Anthony Gordon Withdraws From England Squad After Suffering Hip Injury

Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has left England’s national team camp after picking up an injury during England’s 2-0 win against Albania.

The former Everton winger came on from the bench in the 74th minute of the game replacing Aston Villa’s Marcus Rashford before picking up a hip problem.

New Three Lions head coach, Thomas Tuchel speaking regarding Gordon’s fitness, he told reporters on Friday night that “He looks injured.”

“First of all I thought it was his stomach but it’s his hip and it does not look good. It’s a bit worrying.” The former Chelsea manager added.

The Three Lions have confirmed that Anthony Gordon has left the national team camp and is expected to return to Newcastle where he will be further assessed by the club’s medical team.
