Real Madrid have reportedly advanced in talks to sign in form and on demand Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, but the Spanish side will have to out bid some tough Premier League competition, as they face Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal for the young sensational defender.
The 20-year-old has been a key figure in the Bournemouth defense this season since joining the club from Juventus last summer. His impressive first season with the cherries earned him his first Spanish national team call up in March and has also made him one of the most sort after defenders in Europe.
Dean Huijsen currently has a £50 million release clause in his contract with Bournemouth that has attracted serious interest from top clubs across Europe. The battle for the Huijsen’s signature continues to intensify as the Summer transfer window approaches.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have held talks with Dean Huijsen’s camp over a possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer as the player is believed to prioritize a move to Real Madrid over other clubs.
The report from Fabrizio Romano also revealed the full details of Dean Huijsen’s £50 million release clause: “Real also registered release clause details: £50m to be paid in 3 installments, not in one solution.”
“Timing will be key as Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are ready to advance. Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are ready to trigger £50m clause getting deal done this month, trying to agree with player’s camp. Race open.”
With veteran defender Nacho Fernandez expected to leave the club this summer, incoming Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso is believed to be involved in the club’s search for a new defender. The club are reported to have other names on their shortlist including Arsenal’s William Saliba and Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate.
William Saliba is currently the dream target for Real Madrid’s present and future project, but the club considers the Frenchman too expensive at the moment. Arsenal are also believed to be unwilling to let their keyman leave this summer.
