Liverpool Handed Injury Boost As Alisson Cleared For Return After Brazil Scare

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker left the Brazilian national team camp yesterday after sustaining a head injury in Brazil’s World Cup Qualifying game against Colombia.

The 32-year-old was unable to complete Brazil’s 2-1 win over Colombia and was substituted in the 78th minute, with Al Nassr’s Bento replacing him.

Brazil’s team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar told reporters in a post match interview: “Alisson suffered a head injury and was replaced due to a suspected concussion.”

“We will now follow the CBF protocol, and he will undergo the recommended… tests.

“If all the tests are normal, we will proceed and perform a cognitive test. Then we will evaluate the player.” He added

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Allison will be available for action after the international break is concluded. He also reported that there are “no issues despite head injury suffered with Brazil.”

The former Roma goalkeeper has now returned to Liverpool where he will undergo further assessment on his head to discover the severity of his injury and how soon will he be available for Liverpool again.
