Injured Neymar To Miss Brazil’s Upcoming World Cup Qualifying Games

Former Barcelona and PSG winger, Neymar Junior has been left out of the Brazil squad for the upcoming international break.

This latest decision comes after the 33-year-old was initially included in the Brazilian squad for their World Cup qualifier games against Colombia and Argentina.

Neymar who was close to a return to the Brazilian national team for the first time since October 2023 has been dropped from the national team list after picking up a thigh injury last week.

Neymar Junior released a statement expressing his desire to return to the national team after the news of his exclusion from the team broke.

“The return seemed so close but unfortunately I won’t be able to return to wearing the heaviest shirt in the world in this moment!”.

“We had long conversations and everyone knows the great desire I have to return but we came to a consensus and decided not to risk it for me to better prepare myself and be completely injury free!”.

“Thank you to those who sent me messages of support”. The former Barcelona man added.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Éderson (Manchester City), Danilo (Flamengo) and Neymar (Santos) will leave their place in the World Cup qualifier squad with Lucas Perri (Lyon), Alex Sandro (Flamengo) and Endrick (Real Madrid) called up to replace them.
